Work Experience

Researcher – SoilRes3 Lab | Faculty of Land and Food Systems | University of British Columbia | May – September 2024

Self-directed project. Delivered geospatial solutions for an Indigenous community in British Columbia, in partnership with the SoilRes3 lab, with a focus on biochar research. Supported the ongoing initiative to use biochar to promote Black Huckleberry growth by increasing carbon exchange potential. Used LiDAR data to extract relevant metrics to validate the effectiveness of their biochar processes. The research emphasized the significance of Indigenous ways of knowing, in the pursuit of stewardship and land sovereignty.


Land Use Planning, Contaminated Sites, and Environmental Assessment – Summer Student | Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) | May – September 2022

Collaborated with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Lands and Environment teams on sustainable development initiatives for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities in the Atlantic provinces, with a focus on the Fort Folly community. Played a key role in Addition-to-Reserve (ATR), Environmental Assessment (EA), and Remediation of Contaminated Sites (CS) projects, utilizing advanced digital mapping techniques. Actively contributed to weekly project meetings, shaping progress discussions and future strategies tailored to each Reserve’s unique needs. Authored comprehensive project reports for review by Natural Resource Canada and the ISC Land and Environment Team. Collaborated with fellow summer students on in-depth research and a final group presentation.


Rock Climbing Director & Resource Member | YMCA Camp Glenburn | June – August 2021

Managed climbing equipment and supplies, ensuring safety, storage, and inventory, while leading regular aerial inspections for participant safety. Demonstrated strong leadership and teamwork, collaborating with directors. Solely planned and executed skill development sessions for staff, CIT, campers, and community members. Utilized Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to organize staff responsibilities and camper profiles. Oversaw the development and implementation of camp-wide emergency procedures.


Senior Counsellor | YMCA Camp Glenburn | June 2019 – August 2020

Supervised and cared for 8-10 campers each session for two summers at Camp Glenburn, a non-denominational and non-profit summer camp for youth. Successfully led multi day trips, demonstrating competence in outdoor skills, leadership, and creativity. Maintained a positive and collaborative work environment, communicated effectively with various stakeholders, and ensured a safe and welcoming space for participants during uncertain pandemic times.

Collaboratively planned and taught dance lessons, led workshops, and conducted skill-building sessions.
